About this PhD
BECAL (Programa Nacional de Becas “Carlos Antonio López”) is Paraguay’s flagship scholarship initiative, launched in 2015 by the Ministry of Economy and Finance. It finances master’s, doctoral, postdoctoral, and undergraduate mobility abroad—favouring academic excellence and strategic fields like science, education, and innovation—and mandates returning scholars to Paraguay to contribute to national development.
Nationality, subject and academic requirements vary. Confirm your eligibility, funding coverage and deadline on the official site before applying.
